Livewire Labs is located in Mountain View, CA. Join our team as a Senior Product Development Purchasing Analyst.

Job Summary

The position is responsible for supporting product development as it relates to purchasing activity for systems and components ranging from concept and process selection, cost modeling, project management. This position will lead part and component development activity related to new product launches, builds and purchasing processes. Ability to analyze and manage components through process and product launch. Responsible for multiple component cost, quality and timing requirements per business case commitments. Supplier leverage and engagement in the product development process.

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates in depth conceptual and practical knowledge in analyzing detailed cost breakdown, manufacturing processes, and able to read and interpret part prints including the understanding of manufacturability, function, and relationship of part features. Basic knowledge of related areas such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) principles, process and design related cost drivers, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), forecasting, scheduling, and how manufacturing plants manage inventory.
  • Impacts assessing risk and proactively mitigate, manage, and escalate appropriately within the Product Purchasing Department and Project teams, engineering system groups, suppliers, Related Products department, and H-D operations purchasing personnel.
  • Solves complex problems related to supplier management and enacts a new perspective on existing solutions. Works independently and receives minimal guidance.
  • Acts as a resource for Product Development Purchasing team members with less experience. Responsible for ongoing activities, objectives and may lead projects or steps within a broader project.
  • Communicates difficult or sensitive information and builds relationships with Project teams, engineering system groups, suppliers, Related Products department, and H-D operations purchasing personnel.

Required

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Ability to apply knowledge of best practices in production or procurement of components and subsystems, Capability Studies, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing, cost management tools, other quality and continuous improvement tools, and implementing strategic purchasing relationships with suppliers and how their own area integrates with others to drive results.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a group and/or lead a group or team providing guidance to members.
  • Proven track record of program management.
  • Expertise in knowledge of concurrent product and process development techniques and supply chain and ability to communicate effectively to stakeholders.
  • Travel required up to 15%.
